Default CPA from US to Australia

I am going to take the CPA Exam here in the US, but my husband (Aussie) and I are going to move to Australia. I was hoping to take the exam in the US and transfer it to Australia. I won't have my work requirements, so I won't technically be a CPA here.

Does anyone know how that works? I thought I found information on it before, saying some supplemental classes were required to be a member of CPA Australia, but I can't find any information on it except for Australians who want to work overseas.

I currently have a Australian Resident Visa, so I don't have to worry about working visa.

Thanks for any/all help!

If you are a full CPA in US, then the good news is CPA Australia and AICPA have an agreement to mutually recognise each other qualification. But if you want to practise in australia, you will still need to do some conversions (ie, tax and corporate law). These courses can be undertaken in one of the Australian universities.
