Default AFL football grand final ... biggest day in melbourne for the year

if you dont live in melbourne you would not know that the whole city goes crazy for the football and today is grand final of the games is last one for the year. the winner will be the champion best team of the year.

this is not like in other city they always have the sport ... this is like the biggest day of the whole year.

the team this year is port adelaide power and the geelong cats. geelong cats is not in melbourne but it is in the same state victoria so everyone in melbourne wants geelong to win. port adelaide power is from other state south australia.

i am going to my friends house she is from china but marry an aussie and the son has geelong cats his favourite team. i dont follow the football but i know what is going on and we can have a fun time.

if you want to know who won you can look here in another 6 hours after this post http://www.realfooty.com.au/

Your 'biggest day' seems to have been a bit of a fizzer, with one team winning by a record score.

Although I can agree with you on one level about the importance of the Grand Final day to Melbourne, I think that maybe Melbourne Cup Day might be a bigger day.

The reason for this is that the Grand Final is on a Saturday, but the Melbourne Cup is a public holiday. A lot of people don't care about the Grand Final and a lot of people don't care about horse racing and the Melbourne Cup. But on Melbourne Cup day everybody knows why they are having a holiday.

I think a one day holiday just for a horse race, the Melbourne Cup, would make that a bigger day than the Grand Final.

Just my opinion anyway

Hello

That would have been good, but the URL you used doesn't point to a Port Adelaide pic:

http://members.fortunecity.com/midni...tpowerlogo.gif

Or, what might be happening is that the owner of that domain might be blocking images being served to other domains and is showing their own logo instead.

Do you want me to change it to this one?
