1) No ...does not include health insurance
2) ACU is good choice 3) Conversion is good consideration. just make sure prior to signing up that the course would be recognised for registration by AHPRA. 4) 20 hours is a legal limit for international students seeking part time work. 5) Point form ![]() 6)More point form... AHPRA is another organization in chaos. I sat for my VHSC (Victorian Higher School Certificate) many many years ago and technically this means that I have completed an equavilent to a year 12 in Australia. However because i sat for it outside Australia, they don't recognise it for nursing registration!! They claim the policy admits only those who studied in Australia, England and rah rah.... Now do you see anything wrong with my English? LOL. So they basically mean that you have NOT studied in Australia simply because i wasn't physically here. Because of the luncacy I strongly suggest that you check and have in writing from AHPRA that the course is recognised for registration post graduation. However I won't hold my breathe on this. Hence if you cannot get a firm answer, you run a higher risk that you may get stuck on the pointy end of the BBQ satay stick. For example - There's this requirement (which might be removed now or maybe still hidden somewhere in their choatic mess - AHPRA brought together all the states nursing boards and centralised nursing registration just beginning of JULY this year!) - International students must have studied 2 years full time with a minimum of 4 subjects per semester before they are qualified to register to work in Australia. Exceptions are where students have pre-approval from the boards for specific bridging/conversion courses that they are undertaking...this is reviewed, if i am not wrong, as a case to case basis....so its NOT a broad acknoweldgement of existing bridging/conversion courses. BTW we can get balut from chicken farms here in Brisbane...how about that!! literally SUCK ON THIS....ha!ha!ha! |

And just for your information, this policy was enforceable pre-july merger and is commonly listed in the various boards' websites. Now, with the merger, most things are still up in the air and unless there is a clear notice that such a requirement in omitted, there is no absolute certainty. tpj, I did also qualify my statement stating I am not sure if these 2 year full time study requirement is still applicable or not. I did not say that its is definately stillenforceable. However if you were coming to study, won;t you want to check it out before you commit? Anyways...it does not bother me...nursing is a hobby to me...lol....I am way past my prime and used by date...LOL. Good luck |
