Lightbulb Relevance of Letter of Motivation in international Application

Hey guys

does anyone know whether or not a letter of motivation/ cover letter/ personal statement is required or at least recommended in an international application for an undergraduate at a Melbourne University like Deakin, La Trobe, RMIT or Monash?

I want to study environments.

In case you do believe a letter of motivation/ cover letter/ personal statement is a good idea in my international application, what do you recommend to put in it?

career goals, why precisely the chosen university, or why precisely the chosen course?

previous work experience?

mentioning that I used to join the boy scouts where I had much to do with nature, forests?

mentioning i used to be at the swiss army? - may sound weird but could prove staying power, discipline, further dedication to nature which fits to environmental study.

Highly appreciate any help!

You really need to think about where you want to study and then look at the application requirements. It is unlikely a letter of motivation will be required. If it is not required, then there is no point worrying about and discussing it. If it is required, then just say what you want it won't make much difference the main thing is you have money and you have some minimum standard of English and academic ability. The universities accept everyone who can pay and who has minimum English and academic standard, you don't need to give any support for your application.
